Thanksgiving....

Today, I woke up missing you more then ever. 1 month and 18 days later and I still remember the pain of loosing you as it is still a fresh wound to my heart. These holidays and birthdays are hitting us hard because you were ALWAYS there. I have yet to live the day that will hit me the hardest... Thanksgiving... you made traditions. I remember the conversation we had on the couch that one Sunday afternoon. We were watching the cowboys game and for once you didn't change the channel to another show that we were watching to pass time. Instead you sat up and you told me "Man, you know why I like watching the how boys on thanksgiving?" As usual, I said no why? Then you replied by saying " Because when I was 13. I sat in front of the TV on thanksgiving and watched the cowboys by myself. Mom and dad sometimes would make turkey but that was thanksgiving to me. " Crazy how 20 yrs later you had all of us to watch it with you. You also made it clear, I think I can speak for the whole Celis family, that no matter what weather you have a trip planned or family you need to see, even if it's for an hour, you make it to Thanksgiving. We all grap a plate and before we eat we all stand up say what we are thankful (you always being last) say a prayer and have you cut the Turkey. I know the day will come and I just pray god gives the strength to pull through because you were a dad and a big brother to me and I will miss you dearly. I will make sure to pass the story to your kids and your nephews. they will know all about you brother. I love you. I hope is as good as they say up there and they have the cowboys game playing for you hope you have thanksgiving with your new friends and our brother tell him all about us and teach him all the stuff you taught us. I can't wait to see you again. Until then I'll be here taking care of your kids as you took care of me.
